Well Pat you really stuck that landing! Looks like something I have done several times. Mine has always been on ice in winter here. Happy New Years to all. I just had a 20-30 below snow storm with 6-8" new snow. I snow plowed and guess what it begins to snow again tonight and tomorrow.

Joe - Steve was observed by satellite headed out to sea on a large wooden boat. He appeared to have a number of women onboard.
Well I got great news the other day. The MRI that was done on my shoulder shows I get to have surgery to fix it. That's the same thing that had to been done to my right shoulder about five years ago. It's kinda boring to repeat the same stuff.

Is that for a rotator cuff? I know several people who have had that.
Yes, now that you mention it I believe rotator cuff is correct.
Does anyone else think this winter has been colder than normal? I've been doing various things to warm up a bit including running the forced air heat more than normal (in past years). This morning I got the gas bill which was almost twelve times the previous month's bill and way more than double any previous bill.

Agree. Colder for longer period of time. Although rarely gets in the mid to high 30's. Monday had thunder and pea sized hail which cover the ground about 1 inch. Very unusual and sorta amazing.

River went up to almost 40 feet above normal. highest ever was 50 feet. been cold up here also. I now keep heat off at night to keep bill lower. last month was $250 for gas. with 35 outside inside is at 57 in morning. not to bad.
Put solar power on RV at 200 watts and it is working great. do not have to use noisey generator now. Heard Elon Musk is coming out with a solar roof that will be less cost than regular roof. they said it will be available in 2 years so if you are thinking about upgrading roof wait a while. going camping and kayaking next week at Bodega. Ocean is beautiful. here is picture from river house of the river on 16 Dec.

That river looks like it's moving fast. Don't fall in. Speaking of utilities, I have to keep the house in Idaho at 50 degrees in winter so the pipes don't freeze. It costs about $200 per month for the house I'm not living in, and about $100 for the house in Vegas that I am living in.
Steve - Here's something I just found out about recently. They've been making them for about 9 years.
There are so many odd things that groups do these days. We see demonstrations that I think are way out of proportion to the claimed subject and behavior that's atrocious. For years each day I would go to a site where if you clicked on a bar the advertisers would fund half the price of a breast cancer exam. It took less than ten seconds and seemed like a good cause. There's a twin (same software) to this site that earns 6 tenths of a bowl of dry dog kibble for each click. Sometime in the last few days I watched an interview of some guy involved with the Sierra Club. This guy was using the Sierra Club's name and influence to promote some political cause that had nothing to do with conservation of natural habitat or even the Sierras'. I've been seeing an increasing amount of this cooping of organisations for the personal causes of officers within the organisation over the past few years. I'd call it misappropriation of funds. Yesterday I went to the breast cancer site only to find ads encouraging people to raise hell about fracking while crowing about their self righteousness by refusing a $100k donation for breast exams. I thought what does fracking have to do with breast exams? Why should poor women that have to depend on public donations to get a cancer exam be subject to anti oil politics? Then it occurred to me if this group didn't need $100k they didn't need me clicking everyday.

The internet is an amazing thing. There is a huge amount of good information there, but there is also a lot of bullshit. It is our job to separate the two if we can. We should read everything with a healthy dose of skepticism. So far, the site I trust is Wikipedia. You can find almost anything there with no advertising and no politics. I use it everyday. Good luck with your surfing, and be careful of what you click.
Just read your internet comment. Perhaps the breast cancer reference in regards to fracking may be that the freaking fracking is causing the breast cancer. Have you seen the list of water contaminants that they use for fracking. I have the right to complain about the oil companies because I am working on a solar thermal device that turns water into Hydrogen & Oxygen As the Fusion people have been saying for 50 years, we are only 10 years away from doing this. very complex but eventually it will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. there are ways to clean up the fracking water and the company that I worked for is doing just that, very expensive though.
Talked to Howard, he is doing great.
I like to look at all sorts of stuff that's not always directly connected. There's a company in Saint Louis, Daniel Schmidt, that finds and resells 'collector' for lack of a better name cars. A car they recently added is a 1958 Buick station wagon. You don't usually think of station wagons as collectible but this an interesting piece and probably worth what they are asking for it. The connection my mind almost immediately made was that the price is four times what my mother's house cost in 1958 but the price of my mother's house was four times what the car cost in 1958. Of course the value of the house today is probably ten times what they're currently asking for the car.
See if you can figure this out. On 1/25 I ordered an extra power cable to charge my phone. Origin was Ontario, Can. to be delivered to Los Angeles by DHL. It took just about two weeks to get to the Canadian Post office after being dropped at DHL. It took almost a week to leave Canada enroute to Germany. It arrived in the USA today. I don't know where in the US it might be but the tracking is terminated as of arriving in the US as if it were delivered.

Hi Pat, thanks for posting. Why did it have to go to Germany? This reminds me of a true story about the World Trade Center before 9/11. A business in one tower wanted to send a small package to a business in the other tower. Rather than taking 20 minutes to walk it over, they used UPS. The package was picked up by UPS and flown to their hub in Atlanta. Then it was flown back to NY and delivered at 10 AM the next day. This is the world we live in.
Willie - That's part of the puzzle.

GBB's all will be well when all deliveries are dropped by drones. I am going to training an Eagle to kill drones just like French are doing. Or maybe we can use the delivery drones for Trap & Sheet practice? We don't have to yell "Pull".

If you could train a flock of pigeons to attack drones you could eliminate two annoyances while keeping up with trap practice.

BTW I deleted the link for click to donate for dog and cat food. They ran a big ad against hunting. It appears to me that they are more interested in their anti crusades than actually helping the subject at hand.

I fear that when the packages are delivered by drones, the criminals will use their own drones to steal them. Technology is becoming an endless battle.

    Aging Gracefully

    1. I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People move out of the way much faster now!

    2. I didn't make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row.

    3. I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim.
I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    4. Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven't met

    5. I don't need anger management. I need people to stop irritating me!

    6. When I was a child I thought Nap Time was a punishment... Now, as a grown
up, it just feels like a small vacation....

    7. My people skills are just fine. It's my tolerance of idiots that needs
    working on.

    8. If God wanted me to touch my toes, he would've put them on my knees.

    9. The kids text me "plz" which is shorter than please I text back "no"
    which is shorter than "yes."

    10. I'm going to retire and live off of my savings. Not sure what I'll do
    the second week.

    11. Even duct tape can't fix stupid... but it can muffle the sound!

    12. Why do I have to press one for English when you're just gonna transfer
me to someone I can't understand anyway?

    13. Of course I talk to myself, sometimes I need expert advice.

When these things become public, they apologize and make nice. After the heat dies down, they will go back to their nasty ways. In this case, the issue should have been settled before anyone boarded the plane. There would have been no problem,

There was an article in todays Times about Delta. I looks like the $ they will pay for denied boarding will be well worth it. Maybe the other airlines will follow their lead. Al- Angels are worrying me too, it's always the starting pitching, but they have mild 4 game win streak with some good hitting and decent bullpen work. Can't win without consistent starters though.

Angels went 5 straight on this road trip, is there hope. Dodgers paid too much $$ for a team. My Yankees have been doing ok but too early to tell.
