Gregh - The records are beyond 48 hours now (Sun - Today) so I'd guess the limiting factor would be how much memory is available to hold them.

Good to hear he is ok. Think of him. They were not near storm flooding?

I asked him about the flooding, and he was not in danger. He lives near a lake, but his house is about 40 feet above the water level.

    whats up?
At 8 AM today the thermometer in the back yard said it was 50 degrees. It doesn't speak centigrade so that means we're closer to snow than the beach.

It never got above 50 degrees here in Vegas today. Now it is raining. I guess it's El Nino.

We've not had an Arctic Freeze this year in Montana. Very odd not to have a few days or nights at -30 to -60 with wind chills.

Gregh, that is crazy cold Gregg.
I hooked up my TV to my laptop with a wireless connection. I was in the living room watching the TV while I tested the setup. Suddenly after about two minutes I heard a crash,
the TV went blank and the cat came running out of the room. I went in and found she knocked the transmitted down to the floor so I moved the transmitter to another location where the cat can't 'help'. Then the sound and keyboard stopped working. I found that somehow the TV got put on mute so that was easy to fix. Now all I gotta do is figure out what happened to the keyboard.
Figured out why the keyboard doesn't work with the TV as monitor setup. Seems the keyboard only has a range of about 4 feet where the companion mouse works from the other room like I'd hoped. So I ordered another keyboard. Forgot to say that along with the bigger display the TV has way better sound (7.1) and the wireless setup has 7.1 too. Now when I do something with sounds like play solitaire I hear sounds I never hear from the PC external or internal speakers. I had considered hooking the wireless to my stereo which is wired to the TV because the stereo has 7.1 also. I might try that later just to see what it does for sound. At the very least it could use all eight speakers so who knows.
Like all this kind of stuff there are got ya's that aren't technically the responsibility of the maker of the piece of equipment (in this case the HDMI transmitter & receiver) you are trying to install. In this case the problems are software related and are due to what I think is the typical poor programming in Windows by Microsoft. Windows won't recognize a second monitor plugged into the HDMI port so the complete video isn't displayed. I'd get the sound and the desktop picture but no icons and half the stuff in the task bar was missing. You can fix the display via control panel - adjust screen resolution - multiple displays and clicking on duplicate these displays. There are other obvious choices. But when you fix the display you lose the sound to the second monitor (the TV here). My work around was to transmit the sound to my stereo via my existing setup to send iTunes from the PC to the stereo. Now the sound uses all eight speakers which is an improvement over just the TV's speakers. I want to find a fix for the sound in Windows so I can send both the video and sound to the stereo and on to the TV. Then I'll have ten speakers working but I have other things to do first like go to the gun store today and fill out the freaking paperwork for a new revolver.

Pat, don't get bogged down in all this technology. Remember, we lived the best part of our lives without it. Relax and have a drink.
Willie - May I assume that when you say a drink it doesn't rule out more than one?

Start with one. If all goes well, have another.
Well everyone, you have your instructions from the Web Master himself ;-)

Yesterday I fixed an entry sensor on the new alarm for the garage simply by moving it from one end of the garage door to the other end. Amazing. Also when I went to the gun shop yesterday Pete, one of the salesmen, showed a friend of mine who was looking for a 9mm pistol his person Ruger 9mm that he had just brought into the shop for consignment. It comes with several holsters, 500 rounds and a half dozen clips. It has been shot very little if at all (Pete shoots 45 Auto in competition) because he didn't like the idea of changing his press from 45 to 9mm and back again. When my friend finally decided to not decide guess who bought the gun? Now I have to go back to the gun shop today to fill out the paperwork. Did you know that the Federal Government classifies every one on the paperwork as either Hispanic or Not Hispanic for ethnicity then by race? I fail to see what either has to do with buying a firearm.

Sounds like you are keeping mentally active there Pat. That is a good thing. I have been going through my dads 35 mm pictures and putting them on digital card. He has 30,000 pictures and the card holds 32 K and the quality is good. I have been waiting for something like this. I will send many to the Del Rey memories page. What have you all been up to. I have been hiking in the rain and now have a bad cold. My mother warned me about getting cold and wet, but it was fun. I think I caught it by going into Kaiser with all the people sneezing and coughing. I am selling the Casita camper trailer and Toyota truck and buying a camping van. This will be a lot easier going camping. picture below.
Steve - I'd think the trailer would be just about perfect for hauling a telescope from place to place. I read an article where a guy did that and since he ordered the thing from the builder he had custom stuff like a red light system built in next to the regular lights, mounts for the equipment under the bed etc. The trailer became the storage pod for all his stuff which saved him from loading up whenever he went out.
I had a little trouble with my Juno mail. As a result I found out their customer service doesn't understand or speak English very well. I'm now using my old Chambers.PS@Gmail.Com account because Juno is toast.
I was looking for my medical cooler. It's a thing I got several years ago for some injury that I don't remember. It works good, has a cooler you put ice in and a pump that circulates the water through the cooler and the cooling pad (think heating pad). It'll last most all night long. So anyway while I was looking for it I found a wireless sound system I'd never opened. It's really trick and more powerful than Bluetooth so I replaced one of my the blue-tooth connections that had degraded for some unknown reason. Then I found the cooler too. Ever get sidetracked like that AND have a happy ending?

I've had lost items turn up strange places. Usually I can figure out an explanation, but sometimes it remains a mystery. I have always kept a set of keys in a magnetic box attached to the undercarriage of my car. I think I've had to use it twice in my life. I recommend this.
I've had one of those magnetic boxes under my car & never used it. I have however used the keys hidden behind the driver's license in my wallet a bunch of times. For some unknown reason I kept locking myself out of my truck at Santa Fe Community College in the winter. Real quick I learned I didn't like crawling under the P/U in the snow so I went with my wallet.

Where you guys is? I've had my appendix removed since my last comments and nobody has anything interesting or even boring to say?

Anyone know of a KVM switch (keyboard, video & mouse) that has VGA input x 2 and HDMI input x 1 and both VGA and HDMI output x 1 ea? I'm almost there but...

Willie - That's the mystery, why now while I'm getting ready for a little surgery on my leg? I was always generous and fed it quality alcohol. I told my daughter that I had to wonder when hospitals / doctors were an sometimes thing, finally got to every five years, then annually etc. until now when it seems it's every other month. This might be valuable info, this started with an infection in my leg. They give you lots of antibiotics to kill the infection. Lots of antibiotics can result in the shits which naturally I got. Couldn't cure it and nothing showed on lab tests for 12 weeks. One night I woke up with a stomachache good enough to warrant a trip to the the ER. Cat scan shows inflamed appendix so out it goes. Surgeon tells me after that the appendix was in an unusual position that might cause my problem. Go home and no more shits. So if any of you still have an appendix and wind up with a mystery case of the craps this could be the reason. It was an advance, mild notification of upcoming appendix problems.

Look up Sweedish Bitters. It is a miracle tonic. It really does work good. Just bought new RV. Mercedes chassis and equiped with Winnebago insides for camping. going to ocean next week.
    Steve - What make/model Winnebago?

Just finished packing up the alarm to send it back. It had good features and I'd preferred to keep it but the sensors kept failing about every ten days. Without the sensors you really don't have an alarm system.

Steve - It amazes me how they can put all that stuff together. I've had a number of campers and trailers but never one with an exterior wash station. Just out of curiousity what does it wash? Somewhere around here I think I still have the fold up base for using a camping table out side. It has wide 'feet' to keep it from sinking into the dirt and is basically just a round receiver with three folding legs for the post that holds the table top up. If I find it I'll send you a picture and sent it up if you want it.

    Pat, just got
    not here
Just got back from surgery to fix a large vein in my leg. It didn't go so well as the probe they tried to put in the vein was too big or the vein was unusually small. I vote for the latter probability. In a couple weeks we will try this again.

Bill - Did you get what we talked about on the phone?

Steve - If you get internet for your new vehicle you'd be able to keep up with the GBB blog when you get down to the sea.

Hi Pat, hope you are feeling better.

What is the best was to get the internet in RV. I just got back from the Pinnacals Nation Park. Beautiful place for hiking and caving. this was down 200 miles south 200 million years ago. next going to bodega Dunes next weel.

Just a joke about Towing Corvette. Have you heard of the new collector edition Corvette? Only a few being made, get yours soon.
Steve - Get the D model Tesla. Faster 0 to 60 than anything except the La Ferrari and the Porsche both of which are well over $900k and faster in the 1/4 mile than most everything except dedicated drag cars. Did I mention it's a 4 door sedan? There's also the Tesla model S, 240 mi range, and a road race warrior. Model S comes out next year I think. The ultimate sleepers and not too shabby for electric cars.

I got a new cell last week. The idea was to migrate the phone number from the old phone to the new phone. When you have trouble understanding what the people you were transferred to are saying at the phone company it's a pretty safe bet you can forget about migrating your phone number. After a week of trying and talking to both cell companies I have given up. My new number is 818-554-0839. On the other hand the tele-marketers will have to start all over.

Have had several changed numbers over years due to changing providers. Seems providers are quite attached ($) to their issued phone numbers. It was easy to port a number so long as I stayed with same provider.
