    I just received an E-mail from Howard on this subject. There was a Jim Cornfield in my class. He was a cheerleader. Is this his brother?

    Having worked for the LA Schools from '64 until '02 I can tell you that various groups of preverted people tried to gain access to the schools via employment for years. They finally started to succeed in large numbers in the late 80's. I would not want any kid that I gave a crap about attending school there. This particular event is nothing. The administration hides most of the molesters and moves them around like another large organization we all know about.

    I don't know if this Randy Cornfield went to Westchester High (not in Classmates), but as Willie suggests, it could be Jim Cornfield's brother? The guy is a piece of shit in any case. Reflects poorly on Westchester, that's for sure.

    Sounds like LA Unified School District is run the same way Cardinal Mahoney runs his LA Archdiocese - don't ask & don't tell, just move the offenders around. No concern for the well-being of the kids, just protect the perverts. Congratulations on getting started on the Sante Fe transition. Looks like an excellent spot.

    Howard, I'm sorry it took a story like this to bring you back to the board after a long absence. We hope to hear from you more often. Greg says he knew both Cornfields. My brother Tom thinks he remembers Randy and will check his yearbook. Speaking of Tom, he taught in LAUSD for 35 years. I will secretly check his computer, and let you guys know what I find as soon as I call the cops.

    I did finally get ahold of Jerry Z. He was going out the door for the 4th celebration in Port Townsend. Asked him to call so we can get together for another beer or 2, or 3....! He said he would after weekend. As you know he is not an internet active user. I will let you know how he is. He sounded well. Jerry did say George Navy flew into town for his sons wedding but he was at Jerry's for about 1-2 hrs then buzzed out for home in Mexico.

    Howard, when you come up again let me know so we can meet somewhere that fits your business trip?

    Hey, good Golf scores guy.

    Anyone going??

    The date again is Saturday, July 26Th at 11:00 A.M. It will be at Patti Russell¢s home. Her address is 6661 W. 87Th Place in Westchester. Directions are as follows:

    Take 405 freeway to Manchester off ramp & go West to Emerson & turn left to 87Th Place. Turn right on 87Th place to 6661.
    We will go potluck style again so everyone should bring a dish for the dinner & whatever you would like to drink.
    The Chamber's Brothers will be playing but I'm not sure of the time yet. We will need to collect $15.00 from each person at the door to cover the cost of the live entertainment. Be sure to pick up your name tags when you arrive.

    Bill, Al is still on vacation, but while he was here, he said he would be going to the party. I presume Howard will be going too unless he is on a business trip to Brazil or Hong Kong. I think Bob Williamson will go and Ronnie Trompeter.
    Refresh my memory. Is Pat Chambers one of the original Chambers Brothers? What instrument does he play? Flute?

    I play the half gallon, in a jug band.

    Bill - Patti's house is where Emerson El. used to be. The closest place would be the old Airport Marina but it's under new management now. Look at some older posting on this list. Then there are all kinds of places on Century Bl. or on Sepulveda in El Segundo or around Sepulveda and Jefferson.

    No crickets here, or Mormons either for that matter. They are both concentrated in the potato region in the south and east of the state. Here we just have gun toting rednecks who drink beer and vote Republican. Then there are transplants from Oregon, Washington, and California.

    Willie-Attached is article on river flows. Yellowstone is a natural free flowing river, last of the breed in U.S. Regulated rivers are very high still due to release from dams.

    Greg, interesting article. There is no doubt that this was one of the heaviest snowfall years all over the west. However, we have plenty of time. The season runs through November, and some of the best fishing is later in the summer anyway. Also, we have some good back country lake fishing here too. That would be another option. Keep me posted of your plans.

    Hey Pat, how are you going to handle your move? Will you hire a moving company, or rent a trailer and do it yourself?
    Either way good luck with your back. You might be in traction for a month after you finish. Moving is a bitch at any time, but when you hit 60, it is even worse. I found that out last year.

    Willie did you know COSTCO sells moving kits? Basically it's a big box full of boxes. 25 boxes to a kit. I just finished up my second kit and have to go back tomorrow for more. I even figured out that I can use the now empty big boxes for bigger pictures like the nude I have that'll go over the wet bar. I also had been saving the original boxes with their styrofoam inserts because I knew I was going to move. Just stuffed my 25" TV back in it's original box. I'd estimate 80 boxes so far. Contary to the old wives tail that you can't fit stuff back into their original containers I'm actually getting pretty good at it. Ain't fun though.

    Joe, Howard mentioned you haven't been able to contact Jim. Howard mentioned you thought he might be up here at his Mom's and gave me a last name of Jim's Mom, but there are 25 to 30 in the phone book up here.
    Let me know what I can do, if anything.

    Hey Bill- I found a # for an Edna Graham (85 years old) in Grass Valley. 530-272-4410. This fits the age that Jim's mother might be. I called several times and got no answer. May you could try when you get a chance. I also found a # for Bob Greenwald in Newport Beach CA. This looks good, but the line is constantly busy like he's on dial-up pc or something. I'll keep trying. Let me know if you can try "Edna" in Grass valley. Thanks

    Hay Bill! See you there. Not much time to chat lately, For sure I will show up at Gillis about 9 am or so for some boggie boarding and a little hike to El Porto. Rodeo going on across the road here in Lakeside Ca, "Bulls only" lotsa of yelling and such. Went to Vegas this June and hit the Lexor for the turnament of Kings. Only place I know that you can yell and fart and hit the table with your fist while cussing out the Knights on horseback running infront of your table which serves whole chickens and fries without eating forks while holding a large mug of brew. (hands only). Just like the cafateria in high school. Got to let off alot of steam and such. 109 in the day and 90 at night time. Nice large pool with girl views at the hotel we stayed at. Also went to a mystery dinner where the murdmight be at your table. The audidence picked me as the most likely to be the villian. He was really sitting at our table. Quite a lot of shooting, stabing and poisoining going on sort of just like real life. Have many good old stories to tell but my library Pc (my daughters virusesed three of my home ones so far so I gave up on them tell they grow up).     We will be coming down on Saturday, the 26th to LAX and staying at a hotel near the Airport. Hopefully Howard is going to pick us up to go to the party. If he can't we might just take a cab or hitch a ride with someone, we will see. Steve is coming also.

    hello to all. i just returned from a great 20 day road trip. Las Vegas, Utah to visit Jim Karren and his brother Ron both westchester hi guys. Then on to McCall see Willie and ET. Had a great time and ET made us great Thai food every night. Went out on Tom Kilgores boat and played golf. Willie and ET thanks for a great time. From Idaho we went to Vancouver,B.C.,then to oregon, a mineral hotsprings at Weed,CA then San Francisco and Montrrrey, Santa Barbara and then home.. Bill Fagan, Steve.G is going to stay in my humble spare room. I will be happy to pick you up at the hotel. Let me know the hotel and time or give Steve a call, he thinks his Flt arrives LAX at 7:30 AM Saturday morning. I think I will just take some KFC.

    Al Seth, Carole and I arrive at LAX about 10:00am. We can get a shuttle to the Hotel and Steve has our Hotel info. Carole arranged for an early check in(11:00am) so she can get ready. I will probable just wash my face and head down to the bar. That would be great if you can pick us up at the Hotel, we can all go to Patti's party from there. Howard informed me yesterday that he will not be going to the party. Steve gave me your phone number so I will call you when we arrive at the Hotel and we can set up a time. I will give Steve a call tonight. Off to play Golf today. See you guys Saturday.

Willie next time I see you may be if we can get together up north at Steve Greers place. I keep telling him I would like to get up there. It would be nice to go to N.M. to see Pat Chambers to.     I have seen many of those photos. The problem for me is that most are identified by first name only, and I can't figure out who they are. That's why I asked you to include last names in the ID. I did recognize some of them however. I didn't hang around with the West Rey crowd too much so I need more help. Thanks

    Willie, this web site is Vic Silvera's and I guess he labels the photo's. Some of the photo's were taken by other people and Vic at the parties. This will be our first time going down to Westchester in many years, should be an interesting trip. Patti's house is just down Manchester from where Steve, Howard and I lived near 85th and Loyola accross from Westchester playground. At Emerson and Manchester, wasn't there a Fire house right there on Manchester near Emerson? I'm sure Vic will post this years photo's on the web site as well, I will ask him to label the new photo's.

    Bill, the fire station is still there. A Westchester guy by the name of Steve Hawes was the captain there for a while. More recently, this station was in the news because the white guys fed dog food to a black fireman. The black guy sued the city and won two million. Jim Huckstep lives in an apartment on Dunbarton right behind the fire station. Maybe you could take him to the party, or just stop to say hello. Al knows where it is.

    I am back.
    I have been talking to Joe on the phone, and then called Jim Greenwald to see how he is doing. I stayed talking on his phone long enough for him to pick up and say hi. He said he would meet in Westchester somewhere this Saturday at noon where it is easy to find. Hi Al. I'll try calling you again.
    Look forward to seeing Ronny Rudee again.
    I am back semi retired again. Looking forward to kayak surfing. Most board surfers don't seem to like the kayaks in their way. Where I usually go there are not many anyway.
    Lets do another stay on the ocean at Sea Ranch. I have the place until May of next year. that is why I went back to work. doesn't make sense on working to pay for a nice house that I don't have the time to visit.

    Steve, nice to hear from you. Thanks for your persistence with Jim Greenwald and thanks to Joe too. I had tried to contact Jim without any luck. Tell Jim I said hello. Have a good time at the party, and give us a full report when you get back. If you can get some of the guys together for another road trip, I'm in. I know Al wants to do it.
