Best sport has to be NASCAR. Largest Spectator sport and it would be a blast to be in it. But reality is so few actually participate. Next is Bow Hunting, something I can still do and really like the sealth to it. Used to center fire gun hunt a lot years ago but gave it up for Black powder and Bow Hunting. Good exercise spend a lot of time stalking game. My very favorite as an emerging old fart is by far fly fishing and fly tying. Can't get enough of the fishing. If I could do it over again I would have a dual career as a "Trout Bum" and a "Wedding Crasher".

I got burned out on actually being involved in racing almost 40 years ago. I agree with Gregh wholeheartedly about fishing but I prefer salt water because I've had much greater luck than fresh except for salmon fishing in Alaska. I used to go hunting a lot but after several close calls I gave it up. Used to shoot hipower rifle but I can't be away from the house long enough to compeat these days. There's a range on the other side of the levee so I can make enough time to do a little target shooting. I like reloading and I can keep an eye on Mom while I'm at it, then go shoot up the fruits of my labor. I like Al's approach but I'm not sure if two days a week is enough time allocated to drinking. I found something new to mix with me rhum (picture attached).

I guess it's just coincidence, but the only time I've ever seen Al are on the two days he reserves for drinking. Has anyone ever seen him on one of the other five days?
  2.
I have to agree with Willie, it has to be GOLF & fishing Golf 2 times/week. Hunting I haven't done for years, use to belong to the "American Sportsmen Club, went pheasant and Duck hunting a lot with Mike and the boys. Trained labs for field trials for several years with a couple of friends from Riverside.
Lets not forget about "Sport Fucking" guys, they now have Viagra & Levitra for us guys that think we have Erectile Dysfunction (I think its actually called premature ejaculation).

Ia anyone going to Patty Russells this year??

When is that party? I probably won't be down in LA then, but I'd like to hear a report on it afterward. As for sport fucking for old men, when you are as old and ugly as I am, it's too hard to find a willing participant.
  3.
Willie, where were you guys when you took this photo??

Willie, this years reunion party will be held on Saturday, July 26th at Patti Russell's home in Westchester. Her address is: 6661 W. 87th Place.
I've never been down to any of them. Maybe we should all try to go this year.
Hey, I heard from Tim Dunlap a few days ago via Classmates.com

Bill. That photo was taken in the bar of the hotel on Lincoln & Manchester. We knew it as the Airport-Marina Hotel, but it has changed names several times. We also went down to the bar at El Dorado Bowl and had a few more drinks there. Say hello to Tim for us. I think Howard is in touch with him too.
  5.
Good ole Airport Marina & the El Dorado Bowling Ally. The El Dorado Bowl was a walk through Weschester Playground for Howard and I. I remember we use to file down pennies so they would fit in the machine's to play the "Titan" machine, remember the balls that use to bounce up and if you got them all in a row you got a free game.
Wow and a pack of cigaretts for 25 cents.
    Shit, are we old!!

Hey all, we are here yet. 2008 is great year to get back in touch. I am on a simplification outing and it has become complex. Hope you are all well. Went to ocean and saw no whales but lots of birds. Kayaking is fun in the surf. Lots of it up here, but cold. I am crazy to go back to work, you all knew that anyway. keep healthy and in touch.
    Steve

I think Bill hit on the number one sport. The only problem is it can be more dangerous then being a fireman. There's things out there that penecillian can't cure.

Steve where did you go kayaking? I accidently got in the middle of a pod of Gray Whales in the Catalina channel one time. It was awesome seeing them as close as six feet.

Welcome to the party Steve. Nice to have you with us. They do a lot of kayaking in the rivers up here, and some of it is very rough water. You had better know what you are doing to tackle those.

Did you guys see the picture Nappy put up of the Loyola Theater? That building has since been a bank and at least two restaurants that I know of. It has been declared an official historic building, so they can't tear it down. Nothing is the same as it used to be.
  10.

Stepper, I'm glad you had a good time in St. Louis. I just ordered a replacement pontoon for the one that got smashed. I hope to have it within a couple of weeks.

The Paradise brings back good memories. The reason they went out of business is because we never paid a dime of admission. Do you remember hanging around the back door waiting to get in?

Hey Girls- Good to see such participation-guess we all have lots of time on our hands.

Huckstep-glad to see you figured out how to use a computer, and type too! Way to go! Still as crummy at chess as you used to be? The last I heard Carol was in Pennsylvainia somewhere. I talked to her mom about 15 years ago and found out her dad Reginald passed away. Remember three of us playing chess with him all at once?

A Big HELLO to Gary, Greg, Pat, Nappy and Big Al. I'm still working on getting Jim Greenwald on board. I called him yesterday but got answering macjine.

Willie, you are one to call me a sheep fucker. If I remember correctly, up in Sea Ranch, every time we drove past the heard grazing, you were the one to yell out "Hello Girls"!!!

Howard- I'll try to get Williamson via e-mail and see if we can meet some time.

The only reason I yelled is because they winked at me. Especially the cute one. Also, don't worry about Jim. He couldn't do it twice in one day to save his life.

Boy, am I out of touch, I guess raising 5 kids is a lifetime job and now I have to catch up.
This is really wierd hearing from all of you guys, its like a time machine and you guys look older than dirt (I wonder if I look that old).
Mr Greer, how the hell are you, my old friend from Loyola Blvd??
Great job with the web site willie, you really know how to make us all feel older than dirt.

You and me and Anna Adleman and some other girl (I don't remember her name). What a hoot. And remember Bob Peters the night desk manager? El Dorado has a lot of memories. It turns 50 years old this year!

Are you having a reunion at your place? Just so you know I Like "Makers Bourbon". Is Al planning a trip up to your place soon. It's a shame Al only drinks 2 days a week. I pace myself some and avoid getting out of practice.
