Hi Ron, I am talking back to you, sorry if I missed an answer. Not sure what I missed. Sorry, a lot going on at the moment. With the economy like it is, I am having to go back to work. Although for me it is not work it is fun in the sun and income too.
I am working on the sun stroke. that is I have to move the solar collector 1/2 a degree every 1'30" approx to keep sun aligned to absorber.
This is fun and vitamin D at the same time.
I sure do enjoy those last minutes of the Lakers & Magic. or should I say the last seconds or .1 of a second is absolutely amazing. I wish I could jump like that again. now when I do it, there is pain.
Grunion hunting is fun for they are easy to find if moon & sun are just right. It is the snipes that I never found.
I am on my month of no alcohol to clean existing filters. feels so good it may be illegal. try Sweedish bitters it works.
I have to go and evict more tenants.
Willie will edit this and remove what I should not say.
good work Willie. I'll be at sea ranch every other week for next 2 months if anyone wants to come and visit.

be cool, i am trying to be cool and sometimes hot. oh well, keep on the sunny side.

Hi all. Pat do you use a new web name? Me I only like Basketball jokes, can't get into the spirit I guess. What do you call 2 Mexican basketball players? (Jaun on Jaun) O well. Nice grand daughter Steve, their fun to spoil. last Friday the El cajon police pulled a swat practice at my work site I figured it out after words, but got a few good pictures, I told them that I would get the guy to surrender but only got durty looks. (I think maybe they were after me) I have the pictures on my phone camera as they are running by my side with their auto rifles. Steve what day dose your every other week start? Looking forward to the BBQ Al. Have to go only 4 minutes left on pc time. my middle daughter is in hospital again with Kidney stones, hope this operation works. Had to put off Grunion hunt, took my nephews fishing on Pier at OB next day. Hang tuff, Jim H. I remember you, how you doing dude? from Ron trompeter

I am very relieved to see that Ronnie and Steve are back talking to each other. That is a very good picture of Steve's granddaughter, but she looks scared to death of Steve. She probably has good reason. I saw pictures of the riots after the Laker's victory. People were jumping on cars and throwing rocks at police. I assume Al Seth was involved, but haven't seen his mug shot yet.

Happy that the Lakers won, but Willie I didn't get involved with that melee down at Staples. Thank God they won it in Orlando. Can you imagine what those crazy bastards would have done if they won it here... Gregh, the Dodgers are playing the Mariners at Dodger Stadium this weekend. Would like to go see Ichiro play but can't make it. Betty's last day of school was friday. We relaxed over the weekend, but this week is a late spring cleaning. It is good weather for it as we are still having cool weather, mostly in the high 60s. It should start to warm up soon.
  3.
Have only a minute to chat. Nice day today, lots to do. My daughters home from hospital but not feeling well, so I need to be around to help out. Dodgers will win Al, so you won't miss much. Haven't been to ball game in while, next time their in town (Dodgers) I will go. Steve if you get out this way give me a hollar! Trying to get Jon Kaper to give me a call also, want to explore some places I read about in the Reader. There is a place near the border where a lot of Indians hung out and left behind art work and such. I have a connection for pre Ad art work and nabbed a 300 BC bracelet with animal heads at each end (still has foreign soil attached to it) and a spear point from around Moses time. Can get mummys also and mummy artifacts which were found in the mummys resting place to guard against and for the occupants, you can probably scare someone if you can make up a good enough curse story about it, some of them look like Jackels with human bodies. ( Karen won't let me purchase this one for it guards against intruders and she is superstitous, it looks like the cave men living in that area ran off to. Also Dinosoure eggs at $300.00 a wack. Trying to get a part of that Statue in Irac that was pulled down, a hand or something but so far no luck. (too many bombs or something) I don't know. Also Bible type coins and pre history skulls. It looks to me like your granddaughter is about to ask for a Christmas gift but is not sure you the real santa steve, also you have to use the right kind of gunny sack to catch snipe, thats probably the problem. Talk to you later Ron Trompeter

V??ery peacefull Laker parade today. Not too many arests. Back in the old days we all would have raised hell and ended up in county. Dodgers still on a roll. I lied to Gregh, Dodgers and Mariners not playing until the 26th. We get home from Palm Springs that day. Monday went down to Marine St in Manhattan Beach for a little body surfing. Air temp was 65 and the water temp was 68. There wern't too many people in water except for surfers with full wet suits; the pusseys. Anyway we are still fairly cool in Westchester. Pat, are you getting hot in the valley? Gregh, I guess it is still rainining in the NW.
  4.
Al - It warmed up a little today but really not bad. I picked my son up in Long Beach and gave him my daughter's car (she's in So. Korea but e-mailed the OK). The right front suspension broke on his car the night before last. When the frame hit the ground the car made a sharp right turn into some poor fellows parked car. He remarked about the heat but I bet it wasn' even up to 80. I've been spending about half my weekend time in Simi Valley or out to Fillmore and Ventura. The temp there is equal to or cooler than Westchester / PDR I think and Ventura is often windy. Sometimes I wish I'd of brought a jacket along but I'm never smart enough to think of it before going.

Hey Al- Angels vs Dogers this weekend, 3 game series! Should be very interesting, espercially Sat. game Weaver vs. Weaver (brothers) How bout That? My kids are taking us to the game Sun. for Fathers Day, third level but behind home plate in the shade. Should be good viewing from there.

Irvine's been overcast and cool but looks like the sun and heat will return starting today, should be about 80+ today.

The Angels have the best Weaver. Jeff is mediocre at best. His record is under .500 lifetime, and he gives up homers at an alarming rate. Jared is much better. Advantage Angels in this one. The weather here is perfect today. It should hit about 70 degrees. Picture postcard day. Wish you were here.

Willie, Yes, I had two beers in each hand but I don't think the camera could spot me, I was in Row R which is the VERY LAST row in the upper deck. But the view was great as we were directly behind home plate looking almost straight down. Great seats for being so far away. Angels blew several golden opps, didn't get the timely hit when needed. But it was great fun anyway. live at the staidum is the only wasy to watch baseball. Kobe was there but his seats were far better than ours, front roe behind Dodger dugout.
  7.
I went to the LA Roadster Club's car show Sunday. It was unbelieveable. Any of you remember seeing a fuel altered at Lyon's Drag Strip named 'Pure Hell'? It was there and the guys were telling stories from the old days. It had a blown 392 Chrysler. There was also another fuel altered named 'Pure Heaven' that had a Chevy Small block with a blower almost as big as the engine block but it wasn't at the show.

We went up to Santa Barbara for their Mardis Gras parade. Thats right Mardis Gras in June. It was a little bit like Pasadenas Doo Dah parade. Alot of crazies running around. Alot of fun. ITS NICE TO have Betty off for the summer. We are going to Palm Springs tomorrow for a few days. Lounge around the pool. play golf and drink beer and hit the casino. Wish me luck. I am sure glad the Dodger game was on tv. It seems that every channel you turn to is news on Michael Jackson. Hopefully they (tv) will let this blow ovre. Oops I almost forgot there is still a funeral to come. What will they have, a procession down Hollywood Bl. Went to Palm Springs Tue, wed, and thu. In all the times going there have never seen it so slow. And it wasn't the heat. I have seen it busier in Aug when its really hot. They really lower the prices in the summer. A real nice hotel/motel goes for about $70. Oh by the way the Dodgers won thus avoiding a 3 game losing streak. Andre Ethier hit 3 homers.
  9.
Al - Where do you or how do you find these nice rooms for $70? I'd go there once in a while but my wallet gets so light I can hardly keep the car on the ground driving back home. A close friend used to own a condo there but he tried to make money by leasing it to permanent locals. That didn't work. The last time I was there we were eating in a restraunt when an earthquack hit. We got out of paying for the food...

Dodger's doing well. Mariners are available for quick relocation to Oklahoma City along with Sonics. Mariners are making noise to trade Washburn. Everytime they get a star or good prospect they loose them. The organization is always having a tuff time to keep Ichiro in line. I think the organization is the problem. they screw more up then Steinbrenner.

I was down in Long Beach this weekend. There was one of those new cruse ships pulled up beyond the stern of the Queen Elizabeth. That angle showed that the new ship was was 6 - 8 decks higher than the Queen. They must be a zoo when you get all those cabins filled for a cruize.

Pat, we stay at a place called the Shilo Inn on Palm Cayon Dr. About 1 mile from downtown and about a mile from the Arial tram. They have a family pool and seperate adult pool. Each room has a small fridge and microwave oven. I take my beer out to the pool. There is another place about a mile from downtown called the Caliente Tropics resort. It is a small motel but has a nice pool and jacuzzi. It is cheaper then the Shilo. Gregh, why did the Mariners get rid of Griffey then bring him back when he is ready for social security.

Went to the Hollywood Bowl and saw the LA Philharmonic Orchestra, John Forgerty & a fireworks show. Forgery was great. He pumped one song out right after the other with no delays. All good songs too. His drummer and fiddler were fantastic. Well I have to get up early on the fourth and do my patriotic thing - buy another revolver.

Went to the Sespe Creek Car Show in Fillmore Saturday. The whole of Central (the main street through town) was closed off and had all kinds of cars parked on either side of the street plus half a block down the side streets. Very impressive for a small town. While I was there I stopped in at my favorite gun store. If you want to buy a gun store and and antique store (next door) they are for sale.

Willie please, I only buy American - Smith & Wesson, Sturm - Ruger. Remington, Winchester, Savage, International Harvester and so on. If it ain't in American caliber / gauges I don't want it.

I went down to Long Beach to give my kid some reloading equipment and a shotgun. You know one of those 26" models I love so much. Also coached him where he made a few minor errors in his first attempts at reloading. As soon as I give him the progressive press I've been holding for him he'll be pumping out ammo like a water fall.

Went to see my friend Milo (John Milo Rosas, 30 year E-9 Navy Chief) while I was down there. It's a shame to see such a man slowly die from organ failure while his brain is so bright. Milo was in every war from WWII through Vietnam. Mostly he was on destroyers. He actually was on a tin can that rolled in the middle of the Pacific Ocean during a typhoon for lack of fuel for ballast. On the brighter side he was also very familiar with a number of Burlesque Queens. There is a Burlesque Hall of Fame somewhere a little north of Roy Rogers Museum. Every year the girls get together and do their thing. We should rent a bus to go see them.

Had lunch in Seal Beach. It was windy, good for the para surfers, but kind of cold. Mary thought all the big ships waiting offshore were cruise liners. I had to point out they were oil tankers waiting for the smaller coastal tankers to off load them like they do off of El Segundo.

July 17 - 18 is the gun show in Del Mar. Might be fun plus lunch at Croches in San Diego. Who wants to go Ron?

Went up to Ventura again Saturday. I met a guy who is making motorbikes in a Thrift Store on Main Street. The one I saw was very nice looking. The engine is physically smaller than a Whizzer, and it has a chain drive intead of the belt drive on the Whizzer. Cheaper than today's Whizzers too as these motorbikes run $500 - $700. Later in the day I saw a guy riding one of these motorbikes down at the beach. The fellow who makes them told me they are popular with people who hang them on the back of their motorhomes instead of towing a car. I don't know the details of these motorbikes but I'll find out the next time I go up there which might be in the middle of this week (I got a revolver to pick up up that way). I talked to Vic Silveria awhile tonight. He tells me he has planted about 192 trees on his property in N Santa Barbara County. I guess he plans on being his own forest ranger.

Two fun things to know - The average yearly temperature in Ventura is 70 degrees & Ortega Chillies come from the Ortega land grant in Ventura and were first processed in the Ortega Adobe on Main St in Ventura.

Just wait until I venture out tomorrow!

Hey guys I can tell you where not to visit in July, and that where is Phoenix. Just back to LA yesterday after 5 days in Az. I played golf but had to tee off at 5:30 am so we were finished at 9:00. The rest of the time you stay inside. By buddies swimming pool was 90 so you couldnt even cool off with a swim. Just a reminder, its only about 18 days until my BBQ. And everyone had better be real hungry as Willie and Howard, and Huckstep can attest to I will have enough food for an army. Just bring an appetite and a 6 pack of beer or whatever your drink preferance is. For teetotalers I will have water and some sodas. Hope to see everyone on Aug 8th, 2pm.

Joe and Willie It would take more then a few beers to get me to to a front flip into the waves these days. I still have to run and dive in though. If I try to ease my way in its too cold. I went bown to the Dept of Beaches and Harbors in Marina Del Rey and got a seniors parking pass. I can park in any LA CO operated lot for free during weekdays. They charge $8 week days. Just a reminder BBQ one week from today. Any one needs address or directions enter your comments. Does Ronnie or Howard ever check our comments..By the way Joe I read about the realator and I knew we had a fire but I didn't know it was a mj clinic. The stuff was probably shipped in from the high country in Idaho.
